Ozone Therapy I read that in 1980, the German Medical Society for Ozone Therapy surveyed 644 therapists about their use of ozone treatment on patients. These 644 therapists had collectively administered 5,579,238 ozone treatments to 384,775 patients. Out of all of these treatments, there were only 40 cases of side effects, which equals an astonishingly low rate of 0.000007%. Some medical areas where it can be quite helpful are:
My feeling is that ozone is getting a bad reputation because it is an unstable molecule (O3) attracted to pollution that grabs its third oxygen molecule to create a stable molecule of 2 molecules instead of 3 molecules. When we get reports about bad smog days in terms of ozone content we deduce incorrectly that it is ozone that is the problem. I strongly suspect that if the particulate matter which the EPA says is the real problem is not present then neither would the excessive ozone be present. That does not mean that I recommend ozonators for breathing air unless you are trying to kill mold or whatever other germ, virus or bacteria it is good at killing. Quite special actually. And even then I would counsel that you leave the area while the AIR ozonator is at work. Because I love to soak for HOURS in a warm water environment, hot tub insecticide filtering adjuncts are MY favorite usage. They are used to purify and increase the O2 content of drinking water as well. Fresh rain water and vegetables both have H2O2 in them which is loosely stated a variation of ozone in a more stable form. At a recent meeting I attended (January 2001) featuring key researchers with the EPA I learned that this spokesperson favored HEPA filters over ozone. Unless the health oriented ozone is VERY carefully monitored I have to agree. He did mention that ozone had insecticide capabilities. That was the only glimmer of positive attitude towards ozone and it seemed very insufficient attention put on such a profoundly powerful healing tool. I had to wonder if their focus on pollutants in the form of particulate matter made them lose sight of the importance of clarifying the medical applications of ozone. Ozonation aside, the best way to get extra oxygen into your human body is to learn to breathe better. It even works when you are sleeping. The autonomic nervous system gets a HUGE and extremely health supporting rebalancing as well. To learn how to breathe better click on Rapidly Developing Your Breathing
